Frequently asked questions

Why should I study in China as opposed to the UK or Europe?

We feel that if you are serious about studying Mandarin to a high level the only option is to do so in China. Not only will you be on a top language course at a top university, you will be immersed in the culture and language on a 24 hour basis. Also, with the prices of university fees in the UK being as high as they are the alternative option of studying in China is becoming an attractive one .

How much is it to study in China?

Costs do vary depending on where you choose to study. We do supply a price on the ‘study in China’ page, which gives an estimate of the fees you can expect to pay. On application we will be able to give you an exact price once all of the details have been supplied.

Is the teaching technique used by Chinese universities much different to those used in the West?

The courses offered to international students by Chinese universities take into account western cultures and sensibilities, and have been adapted to suit these. Seminars are very similar to those of universities in the West and all lecturers speak fluent English.

Why do you not you offer your own Mandarin language programme?

We feel that the best way to learn Mandarin is at a fully recognised, professional, educational institution. To fully appreciate and take into account the best interests of the candidate, the only logical decision is to aid and assist in a placement on a course at one of our recommended universities.

Are these courses recognised world wide?

To study Mandarin in China at any of the universities which are affiliated with Noble House Asia are highly respected by institutions world wide. The University of Leeds, a top university in the UK, use two of the universities listed to send their Mandarin language students there during their year abroad to study. Such courses are respected and actively used.
